3rd Annual Trainers Academy - Level I
6 days: New dates TBA for 2009
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day

The Monadnock Canine Academy prides itself on having a state-of-the-art facility, with the best pet dog training classes offered in the region. We are excited to be able to offer this program for the third consecutive year!

In order to be a pet dog trainer, there are four areas of learning
that you will need to master:

  • How to train a variety of dogs: of different breeds, sizes, ages and temperments Group instruction: how to manage a class environment, humans and canines Dog behavior: how to recognize the signals of stress, aggression, fear and shyness; how to properly manage these situations in class
  • Canine development stages: the impact on owners, dogs and training

This intense, six day course will be a combination of lectures, working with shelter dogs, videos and presentations by guest trainers. We recommend you clear your calendar for the week, as each person will be assigned a shelter dog to provide care and training to. Each dog will have target behaviors to work on, and it is helpful that attendees plan to arrive early/stay late to train and work on projects. Click here to download a sample of the daily schedule.

Cost: $850 for six days. A light breakfast, including coffee and tea, as well as a nutritious lunch will be provided each day. Handouts and training equipment (including treats) are also included.
